BUDVA has around 10,000 inhabitants. The coastal area around Budva, called Budvanska rivijera
with sandy
beaches, diverse nightlife, and beautiful examples of Mediterranean
architecture. Budva is 2,500 years old, that makes it one of the oldest
settlements on the coast of the Adriatic sea.
Budva Riviera (Serbian/Montenegrin: Budvanska Rivijera) is a 35 km long strip of Adriatic coast surrounding
the town of Budva in Montenegro with 12.5 km of beaches.

The Old Town in Budva has been discovered by a Greek sailor by
the name of Boutoua. The Roman Empire took over the whole
Montenegrin coast influencing it greatly. The architecture in the Old Town is of Venetian
origin with Roman style. There are three main churches in the old
town - St. Ivan's built in the 7th century AD,
St. Mary's of Punta dating from 840 and The Holy
Trinity, which was built in 1804..
